Distribution Plant - Wodonga

The Wodonga plant has been laid out to enhance a continuous flow of production processes in accordance with our lean manufacturing philosophy. The floor space comprises approximately 8000m2 and is divided into three main sections namely, core, winding and assembly; tank fabrication; and tanking, testing, finishing and padmount assembly.

Production occurs in accordance with the master production schedule. Manufacturing cycle times are kept to a minimum. Delivery performance is monitored and is a critical KPI of the business. A sizable, bunded, outdoor storage area holds a stock of short lead time products to ensure delivery commitments to Utility customers are met. Product quality is controlled by means an ISO 9001 quality management system. This system has recently been upgraded to the ISO9000:2000 requirements.

Workplace safety is a very prominent feature at Wilson Transformer Company and the Wodonga site has been accredited to Safety Map.
